Default Updgrade Brakes For Type R Engine???????

Im gonna be putting a type R engine in soon. but im i wanna upgrade my brake system.what would be the cheapest way to do it. I was looking into 5 lug conversion/type R suspension for the looks/brake performance. People told me just to do a big brake conversion. im gonna be putting some tein full coilovers on soon, but i gotta know what i should do so i can get the coilovers for my car,or type r suspension. i got some brembo cross drilled/slotted i can put on but i dont know if that will be enough power to stop.Do i need bigger rims for the big brake. HELP ME OUT!.

I have a 98 GSR front suspension: control arms, spindle, calipers, new rotors and pads for my hybrid. I havent done it yet because I am still waiting for my mail ordered braided brake lines. I am not planning on swaping tht rear drums though. Most of the braking on a front drive car is the fronts. As of now, the 9 inch stock rotors do an ok job.

Do a gsr brake upgrade. That would be the most economical thing to do.

Later on down the line, upgrade to a fastbrakes kit..they have some mighty good stuff

The stock discs are 9.1 inches while the gsr's are 10.1. Do the math and that equals a better stopping platform to work from. Your next upgrade from that could be type r calipers and redrilled discs to 4 lug. That is 11 i believe.

That and an ITR or GSR mc/booster. Civics suck...I've found that out recently

I'd go with an RS Integra MC/ brake booster , That way you don't have to bend any lines.......

fastbrake
it could fit in a 15" rim(stock rim might need a spacer)

THANKS. but what should i do. whats gonna be cheaper yet work just as good. i got a set of brembo cross drilled slotted(havent used). will those and some good brake pads work good. or do i need new calipers. Also im going with the tein full coilovers and i heard you need type R LCA. if so maybe i'll just do the conversion. how much does the AEM Big Brake Conversion go for w/calipers?

well , if you go gsr , and then plan to upgrade that would be cheaper . if you go with type R the smallest rim that youcan fit isd a 15' rim.
with teins or any japanese coil over (at least most of them ) you need type R lca , but is no big deal .

i would say for tha front, use the Wilwood kit if u got tha $$$, and then new pads, rotors and brake lines in tha back cus its an Si right and already has rear discs.

edit: the wilwood kit might fit under sum 15" wheels

Default suggestion...

These are nice, because unlike most other aftermarket calipers, you can use ITR sized brake pads (easy to find),

This belongs to my friend who lives in Florida. Good job Paul

ask One Point EK... he had alot of trouble with his brake swap.. he suggested just to upgrade your stock brakes. i.e. steel braided lines, new calibers, and rotors
