Icon2 Too much oil?

The other day a guy pour an extra 1 l in my engine. I can tell by the oil left in the bin.

My question is how to suck it out from the measuring stick, because I don't want to go down there to drain as we got a lot of ice and snow here.

Maybe some kind of a pump or some giant syringe with small hose on it to suck the oil out...?

Any ideas are appreciated!

In the end, it's probably easier and safer just to drain the excess oil from the drain bolt in the pan. I'm envisioning you getting something stuck in the dipstick pipe or dropping something unwanted into the oil pan.

Like ron said, just drain it out. How much oil are we talking about, if it is a little over the full line I would not worry about it. If you car burns or uses a lot of oil I would just leave it.

I'm curious what kind of issues too much oil could cause?

I put more than expected during my last oil change. The CEL was blinking, changed oil a week later and it was back to normal. I didn't notice anything different though.

Too much oil can lead to frothing, which reduces the ability of the oil to lubricate engine parts.

not for nothing....but you can drain your oil with 1 hand...
grab a cardboard box...lay on it...grab a box wrench, crack the bolt, let a little drain out.

For the amount of time it'd take to siphon oil out the dipstick hole, you'd have a spare hour to play with---

Its 11 degrees here, so I know cold. It sucks....however alot easier/cheaper then swapping a motor

It's between 1/2-1" over max. mark.
I never seen so much oil before.
Yeah, my car burns oil but will burn it all until next oil change.
1L of extra oil is a lot + now I cannot rev it much because I'm afraid if the cause too much pressure inside the engine.

I'll drain asap.
Thanks Ron and you guys too!
