Mini me swap 96 y8 head and IM on 2000 civic Air injection issue?
I tried to research but couldn't find anything. I have a 2000 civic with a y7 and I want to do a mini me swap. I have a parts motor 96 y8 with ecu and everything but my problem is this .... 99-00 have air injection and 96-98 dont have air injection. Would this cause a idle problem? is there any bypass or trick ? or do I have to go out and buy a 99-00 IM?
What is air injection? IACV? Idle Air Control Valve, is this what you're talking about? I remember reading that the automatic and manual cars have different ones.
No the iacv, the 99-00 has a cold start valve I think it's iac the 96-98 y8's do not have it.
I can not remember if the y7 has the valve or not. I think if you go with a 96 IM you should be fine, or if it is 99 IM you plug the hole.

You'll be fine unless you lived in California and they'd look for it. If you have the whole Y8 engine you won't have to add the air injection.
you will be fine as long as the head matches the intake manifold you are right the 99-00 Manifold has Cold Start valves or holes whatever you wan't to call it, but since you have a 96-98 head and intake manifold with a matching ECU you will be fine all you need though is a Obd2B to OBD2A conversion harness like mentioned above.
