is it doing it when you head towards redline or just everytime you get over 4000rpms? mine does its from like 4500-6500 if im punching it. I have no idea what it is but it sounds cool lol.

That sounds like your hitting a rev limiter in that video. Is your check engine light on?

BergRacing21,
I think that sound you hear is your engine hitting it's peak tq & hp RPM range. It is enhanced even more if you have a cold air intake and a tube header.

OK then I didn't hear anything but a loud exhaust or open throttle body and a few quick throttle blips.

I'm sure what you are thinking is VTEC is simply the power band of your engine. Like I said before. With the stock intake piping and exhaust removed it is enhanced. I'm sure running an A6 ECU with an A1 engine isn't going to hurt anything. Probably not going to give you any added performance without the cam and intake though. The fuel trims will level out and it will act just like your OEM ECU.

I used to get that VTEC feel all the time. It would actually set me back in my seat a bit when stretching out the gears going up a highway on ramp. It would be going along nice and smooth and then around 4500-4700 there would be a bit of a kick.... that's the sweet butter range!

All I had was a chipped ECU, 255cc injectors, SRI, ported IM and a 4-2-1 header with 2.25" collector and exhaust.

If you adjusted the valves properly there shouldn't be any issue there. Should put your PT3 ECU back in your car and see how that works.

If your timing is off, yes it could make you slower. That is usually pretty obvious at idle.

ohh gotcha...i assumed it had something to do with that, i knew it wasn't anything wrong. It's funny cause back in high school when i first threw a SRI on my car you could definitely hear it and guys would not believe that i didn't have a H22 in my car. I'm like "I DONT HAVE VTEC!"

OP, i have no idea what's going on with yours like ghost said seems like your hitting limiter or something is your CEL on? could be in limp mode.

Just like Ghost said, swap the ECU and see how it runs.

What's the point of using the A6 ecu while using all A1 parts. Unless you like the sound, just go back to the A1.
