Above 4500 rpm I notice a whining sound like a supercharger - ANY Help?
OK so its a Turbo b16a2 ek 4dr. Basically here's wuts happening when in drive above 4500 rpm i notice a whining like supercharger sound which is bothering the crap outta me. I havent noticed any power loss no cels on. Only thing is I cant remember if the sound was still their before i put the competition stage 4 clutch in or not?? Only things I can think of being too much/ too little tranny oil?, timing belt?, or alternator bearings? I highly doubt the motor is making the noise its been completley gone through!
Anyone ever had this happen?

hmm... have u tried steping the clutch in to c if it still whines? try stepping in the clutch and listen to see if it still whines. if doesnt whine when the clutch pedal is step on then it could be the clutch is not setted in right or it can be the bearing that is on the tranny that needs changing. those are my only ideas..also is it more like a wistle or is it more like a scrapeing noise?
At 20psi my turbo made a supercharger noise...get home and the compressor nut came off, compressor hit the housing, and I went from 0 shaftplay to 1/2" at least. Moral of the story: don't overspin stage 1 T3 turbines
K far as I can tell it sounds like its n the head kinda. listened with a stethoscope. Im only pushn 6-10 psi right now. I have new bearings, arp rod & head bolts, stock head. But it starts around 4200 an gets a lilouder up to 6200 rpms then completley runs smooth throuh the rest of 8500 Ima post a vid. But ima try a a different oil 1st
BTW oil pressure is not an issue!

Check the valve cover bolts and any other bolts around the head. Could be something really simple (or maybe not haha). Keep us posted. Videos are great!
