Default MINI-ME BOOST?????

Hey, so I have a jdm d15b block with 30,000 and a complete
Rebuilt D16z6 head. I was wondering if bossting it would be ideal due to the fact that I've heard the compression ratio is higher then the d16z6???
I'm looking to do this soon but id appriciate the advice

Your going to snap a rod if you go over I think 200whp... If you want to boost you might look into doing FJ rods and Vitara pistons. I think FJ makes the only rods for the D15.. Your going to need atleast 440 blue top injectors too and s300 or something

Yeah I was thinking I could safley boost it on 7 pounds with out building the internals.... I think that's right lol
How much do those injectors run these days?
What exactley are s300's....are they injectors as well?
Whould it be alright to through in a stage1 cam in their before I boost it or will that raise the compression?

What is an S300? Cam? High compression? Fail. 7lbs on what turbo? If you don't even know that you aren't going to successfully boost anything. Just go and get the Ebay kit you've been eyeballing and call us when it blows up.

I wouldn't go over 7psi of boost and i would use a rebuilt evo8 turbo with a ported compressor for the best bang for your buck. You can get an evo8 turbo off craigslist or a forum and have Forced Performance rebuild it and port it if you want.

Injectors- I'd go with the dsm 440cc injectors cheap and good with a 1.5l build

Cams don't increase compression and a stage 1 cam would be perfect for a boosted mini me

S300 is Hondata for your ecu so that you can tune the car, trust me a built car is only half the battle. A built car means nothing if its not tuned. You can have a stock ar tuned and gain 20whp

7lbs on a t25 or 15G is going to be uncomparable to 7psi on a 30/35R (just using smaller and larger turbos for a comparison). Choose a turbo that will make power and spool quickly to give you a nice powerband.

that evo turbo is small. it would be great for spooling quick

Exactly, a ported evo iiix turbo would be perfect on a mini me swap. forged rods, slightly over sized pistons (.020 over), block guard, acl bearing kit (main and rod bearings, DSM 440cc injectors, stage 1 cam, intake, exhaust and a tune would be awesome! If not the internals at least the other things

To make a fun little car 1600cc injectors, a Bosch 300lph fuel pump, and an E85 tune... mmm.. =]

That would be so stupid to run such a small turbo on a built engine only to push "7lbs".

oh, and if you put forged rods/pistons in it i'd say boost 15psi with 9:1 compression pistons.

I wouldn't think that a 1.5l can spool a gt35r anytime before like 5,200 rpm. with a ported evo 8 turbo @18-20psi, forged rods, 9:1 .020" over forged pistons, injectors, cams, and the other supporting things you would have like 250whp and the power would be instant. but yea you are right with a built engine it would be stupid to only push 7lbs

a gt28r and a gt30 r is the best ball bearing turbo for a d series with little lag. im not too familiar with presision or borg warner turbos that are equivalents .....

Nah. We've established what turbos we're talking about.

Ok So from someone who has built a D16
Vitara pistons
FJ rods
No block guard
No bore
1000cc injectors (e85)
440cc (91oct) Good till just under 280hp
ACL Bearings
OEM D16z6 cam is Awsome on boost, but Delta makes a 272-2 cam regrind for cheap.
S300 Hondata
Walbro 255 is perfect
ARP Headstuds
I was running 30lbs on an HX35 making just over 440 at the wheels.. D16s thos is you go 250hp, then 300, then 350, then 400 the bocks tend to last and hold up to some high power.

D series Trans Hate anything over 300, If you want real power do a D2b set up its cheap and easy to do and good for like 600
