Default Building a d16z6 for boost

I have a z6 head and want to build a z6 block to run some psi... Would like to run around 16psi... What will be required to handle that pressure? I know sleeping is recommended but a shop here in Sioux Falls where I live developed their own cylinder stabilization system that has been proven to work extremely well under high boost without sleeping.. But as for pistons, rods, bearings, valve train etc what all should I invest in.. I'm building it myself but I want to try to keep the motor aspect of the build between 2 or 3k... Any suggestions appreciated

PSI, boost, ect all are completely meaningless without EXACT turbo.

Knowing what avenue is good for you we need your budget (which we have), wheel horsepower goals, and purpose of the car.

Also, you have to sleep some time. No way around it, part of being human.

We need a power goal before we can even begin to help

I will say this, you can't make much more than 225ish HP without forged rods and pistons, then you need ARP headstuds, etc, etc, the list is endless

Read the FAQs, first and foremost.

If you keep your goals under 240whp, you can boost the stock engine (at whatever psi you want, so long as it makes under 240whp). If that isn't enough, a simple Vitara/Eagle build is an affordable way to break into the 300-400whp range; however, the compression ratio on Vitaras isnt ideal. Your best option is a Wiseco, CP, JE, etc forged piston with either Eagle or FJT rods (so that your compression is in the 9.5-10:1 range rather than the 8:1 or whatever with Vitaras), but this option is obviously the most expensive of the three.

Once you figure out your goals and budget, you need to figure out which existing setup works for you OR do what most of us do and build a setup from the ground up. Once you've learned enough to comprehend what needs to be done, finding and buying the parts is easy. Start by reading and researching...otherwise you're always at the mercy of the opinions of others

Well i want to be around 350whp. I meant sleeving in my original post. but yeah, i am looking at a Weisco Forged piston/ Eagle H-beam forged rods combo on ebay for like $819. comes with the wrist pins and piston rings also.. I dont know what kind of main and rod bearings i will need.. Are Clevites good or is there something better.. I was also curious about what i need to do with my head, valvetrain, fuel etc.

Stock is fine for valvetrain and OEM is best for bearings. For fuel you will want 550+cc injectors and a Walbro 255 fuel pump. For that low of horsepower you don't need much other than forged internals and a properly sized turbo.

OEM Bearings are great, but ACL works just as well. If you have any maching work done on the crank, you'll need ACL bearings as there is no OEM oversized option (at least for B series @ +.25mm).

You dont need to sleeve it. I got what you were saying, but we had to give you **** about it. The stock sleeves will be fine into the middle 400s.

550cc injectors would cut it, but i would go with 720s (or something around that size) for gasoline. If you're running e85, you'll need to go bigger ~880-1000cc

Read up on Vitara builds, 300-400 bucks and you can make good power. I was making 440whp using vitara pistons and eagle rods and stock sleeves. I would look at dseries.org theres lots of d16 builds over there...

Without lots of sleeping you shouldnt be driving a car, let alone anything over 250whp

You don't need to spend a lot on headwork, maybe an intake manifold and if ur really feeling jazzy a cam. Money is better spent on pistons/rods and for the z6 maybe a d2b conversion or a tranny with altered gear ratios. The z6 trans is long and will seem laggy with a decent sized turbo that can make higher hp numbers.
