94 which car to choose 300 twin turbo or acura integra greddy turbo?
i currently have a 98 integra gsr stock eventually plan on modding this is my 2nd gsr
ive tracked for 7 plus years.
what I want is a fast street legal car that I take to hpde maybe 1-2 times a year
my plans for the integra was probably greddy smog legal kit if i can find one with smog legal bolt ons and weight reduction to about 2300-2400 pounds.
but I was recently offered by my cousin a 1994 300 zx twin turbo that has all maintennace done very clean car. he said if i sell my integra he will just take the cash and give me the 300 z
i know they are kind of hard to work on but for a trade like that im very tempted ?? what do you guys think?
i dont know much about the 300 z but i plan on doing maybe some smog legal bolt on and maybe chip
Never mind the more i research the 300 it seems like people reall really hate working on them
Ill stick with the integra

Eh...depends on what you're comparing it to.
Z32s, when running properly, are an absolute blast to drive, If you have a solid suspension that's dialed-in, the car feels very very nimble and well-balanced (like almost any car)...
Problem is, when they aren't running properly. 90% of all maintenance requires the intake plenum to be removed. Turbo issues require engine removal. Nissan wiring looms are some of the most brittle in the industry. Clips break off if you sneeze them. HICAS (if equipped) is like having a huge spike for an airbag. Sure you don't notice it until you need it, then it punches you in the face.
heavy... eh. 3400lbs isn't exactly heavy when you have 4000lb GTRs. It's the power to weight ratio that sucks, but then again, they are quite fantastic to drive when set up.
If you must have a Z... 350Z with the rev-up engine. or, the answer is always miata.
Your integra from a cost stand point is still a better track day car.
Parts are half the price and easy to get ahold of......
300ZX are power houses but they have become a niche car like the MR2. I had a MR2 and let me tell you its hard to get parts for it and the aftermarket for the 300ZX and the MR2 are DIEING if not dead.
Really nothing new being made for them.......You have to deal with whatever existing companies that are still left out there for them.
The MR2 shares the same issues as a 300ZX hard to source parts and a small niche after market.
I was in high heaven after I had a GSR going into a mr2. But It drove me insane how small the support network is for them and having to wait WEEKS to get parts shipped.
For a fun nice car that can be taken to the track 300zx, but for more of a racer the integra is were you want to be.

Its also very nice being able to search the internet and get a part you need locally.
Trust me the ZX/MR2 guys will tell you these cars are like every other car. They will tell you its not a big deal. They can never down or say anything bad about these cars(like a cult) and will talk you into buying one.
After you buy one they are no different that any other higher end car to own. Parts can be had but you will wait. They are also simple to fix........BUT ARE TIME CONSUMING.
So in the end they are reliable exotic cars with less of a price tag but still not cheap.

Ive scene over 300whp NA these days from a revup and tons turbo setups to choose.
The 350Z main issue is that it is sloppy/cruiser out of the box. It has tons and tons of aftermarket support though to make it a viable car.
