Rounded off Flex Plate Bolt...Idea's ??
I'm taking apart an F22A6 and I have the head removed, oil pan, timing belts etc.. I went to remove the flex plate bolts today and removed all but one. This one got rounded off.. Whats your best favorite way to remove stripped bolts?
They are weird shaped bolts. I tried to drill into the middle and use an extractor but they don't seem to be a good material to drill into. I'm thinking I'm going to grind both sides of the bolt down flat to get a 12 or 14mm wrench onto the bolt and try and remove it. Anyone else have any idea's ??

Nooo! thats the damn tool that f'd up the bolt in the first place! I didnt realize what the bolt was initially so I used that gator grip..it would NOT grip the bolt and rounded off the sides! the damn piece a junk...
I now believe the bolt is an inverted torx pattern. A 12 point 18mm bolt did work on the other bolts.
I tried to drill the bolt but its too hard.

As for 'inverted torx', there are 6-point E-Torx which look nothing like 12 point hex or 5-point 'star' fasteners.
A simple rule when it comes to fasteners, if you cannot identify what the fastener is, then you probably should not be working on the component.
