Default Different D-Tranny's.

Okay, I need to buy a new/used D-Series Transmission. I have the Z6.. What's the best option in regards to the different transmissions on all the D-series.

Define "best". Your question is too damn vague.

Still don't know what you are talking about. "Get the job done" isn't specific either. What are you looking for? Long gearing? Short gearing? At least ask a TECHNICAL question.

you know, the kind with the short but long gearing that's amazing for boost but with a longer drive that can get you 44mpg....it's the magical transmission

the newer 96-00 d series transmissions have steel shift forks other then that there is nothing better except the gearing between models. if this little d is staying N/A and no boost i would recomend a ex trans. with boost u could make up for the long gearing.

96-00 EX trans.

Same gearing as the trans that came with the motor you have but with a steel fork (as mentioned by apexi rsx). That way when you street race and attempt to get said job done, **** won't break as easy when you bang gearzzzzzzzz

Thanks, and it is going to be boosted, so what would be the ideal transmission for it? I'm guessing the Z6 tranny is fine?

Keep in mind that there some people who don't like the steel forks. They want the fork to break instead of bending and breaking the gearset.

Something for you to think about.
