Default Better gear oil alternative?

Wondering if anyone had any experience with a good gearbox lube to hopefully smoothen the shifts as well as added protection during track days turning laps?

Can't ever go wrong with Honda MTF but was still curious.

I never tracked my 07 civic LX, but after I added mobil 1 gear lube it shifted much nicer, I did try royal purple for 50 miles I experienced a slight grind going into 2nd when cold so I dumped it and went back to M1.

X2 i have been using this now the past 3 years in my FD2R and not a problem with it, all the gear changes are smooth, no crunching and it stopped that dreaded 3rd gear notch...

Try Torco MTF. I use a blend of 1/2 RTF and 1/2 MTF on daily driven/track cars. Too heavy of a fluid will cause problems and will not allow the transmission to lubricate properly.

Or just leave it alone. Honda says not to use additives or anything like that in their cars. They have done the research to insure the best possible fluids for the cars. Why would you use anything else?

I agree 100% with you on a daily driven vehicle. But, when using a vehicle on the track...the OEM stuff tends to break down quickly. Especially when temps get up there.
