Icon2 speedometer problem

Hey. I got a 92 honda civic vx b18c1 gsr swap with gsr transmision and a gauge cluster from an different civic and its from an automatic it was switched so it can have the rpms. Anyways the speedometer worked and then it stopped and sometimes ramdomly it will work and sometimes it would jump around and then stop working . And if it works and i turn off the car and turn it back on it wont work any more. I checked the speed senson on the transmission and i chacked the cables in back of the gauge cluster everything sems to be connected. What can it be or how to fix it. Thx. Oh and i got a p28 chipped ecu with 2 step at 4 500 and when the speedometer dont move i cant go past those rpms

my speedometer did the same thing in my civic and I got the wiring checked by a mechanic and all was good so I got a new cluster and that was the problem. I'm sure you can find a used cluster for $20, just swap it in and see what happens.

I have same issue on a 95 civic dx coupe. Speedo don't work or works erratic. I sealed the cluster and still does the same thing. Only thing I need to check is a vss. There really isn't any way to test one just swap it for a good onevthst ur for dire knows that it works and see that way.

Yeah try a diffrent cluster from an ex manual that should be your problem if its not your speed sensor try finding one in your local junk yard or off a friend because everyone online is over priced
