New Distributor, messed up Ignition Timing and Idle! Need to fix before work!
So I replaced the distributor but forgot to mark where the old one was.....so now it's misfiring no matter how I adjust it. Should I short the pin as to when timing with a gun? I don't have a timing gun sadly and am just going by ear and feel. I Just want it to run well enough til I can borrow my buddies gun.
I also accidentally broke off the nipple to the "G" on the throttle body (closest to front of car) and plugged the whole and hose as to not make a leak. Is that going to screw me up for DDing til I can get a new TB?

So I figured out part of the issue...I had the wires on the distributor wrong. So that's fixed and it idles A LOT better now...haha
However it still has quite a low idle no matter how advanced the timing is via distributor. So i'd like to get that fixed....I mean it's idling at like 100rpm

Once you have the plug wires right and the distributor in a position where the car will idle, there isn't much you can do except adjust it using a timing light.
What nipple are you talking about? Not quite sure what "G" you are referring to.
If you are referring to the G in PGM-FI (90-93 Accord) then that is not the throttle body. It is the upper plenum of the intake manifold. That nipple is the PCV vacuum port.
A bit more information about the year and model of your Accord could be helpful as well.
100rpm is very low, I didn't even know that they could idle that low...lol Once your base timing is set up properly, w/SCS connector shorted and a gun, you may have to adjust your idle speed as well.

It's a 91 w/ Auto Tranny. Yeah that's the G i'm refering to. The nipple closest to the front of the car. I broke it off on accident when changing the fuel filter (cold here in colorado...). I'm gonna try and get a buddies timing gun so I can set that base timing.
Having the PCV hooked up may also bring the idle up a little bit as it does introduce air into the engine under vacuum/at idle. If you are planning on replacing that nipple. I would suggest getting it fixed before you do your base timing and idle speed adjustments. If you do it after, you will most likely have to reset your base idle again.
Any big issues with just capping off the hose and the broken nipple? I don't have to do emissions for another 2 years so i'm not too worried about that. Just engine health and performance.

Carbon build up inside your engine, aka sludge, could be one possible side effect of plugging the PCV port. More frequent oil changes could help keep that down though. Burning oil due to higher crankcase pressures could also be another possible issue. To cure that you could simply vent to atmosphere. There are a few older cars & trucks that simply run a longer hose from the valve cover (PCV port) to a location under the engine/firewall. This keeps the burnt oil smell and any possible oil blow-by from staying in the engine bay.
