Default Planning phase

So after a long hiatus it is time to rebuild my EM1. I did a mild turbo build early in college, at 11lbs on a 60trim, made about 290 wheel, on a conservative tune. I just graduated with my BSEE and will be working at Honda manufacturing in Ohio After 90k miles of daily use and abuse, Its about time to refresh the blue beast in my drive way. So I have been out of the game for about 4 years, and a lot has changed, the technology is on a different level, so I'm more or less starting from scratch, researching each and every piece. I figured I would post my parts list up, and seek some help from the seasoned builders here on HT.

So to give some background, the previous setup had no expense spared (within reason, I spent about 8k after all was said and done), I put the best parts on the car, but I'm looking to take it to the next level, and I'm not sure if any of it will be reusable.

The car will be mostly a street car, and will see strip time as well. That said, I want a RADICAL street machine. It will likely be driven around 400whp most of the time, but I would like to be able to turn it up when necessary I put off all my automotive fun so I could finish school so now that I have a real job its time to do it right.

My only complaints with my current set up is that it killed my AC (all the parts were there, it just never blew cold after I installed the turbo). I assume this is a heat soak issue from the manifold/turbo/dp. Build 2 MUST have working power steering and AC. My other complain is a pretty consistent overheating issue, that I still struggle with todate. Almost all the components on the cooling system have been replaced/upgraded, and the car still runs hot from time to time (its worse in the summer). I need to eliminate that problem as well.

So below is a list of all the parts I have thought of, as I think of more I add them to the list. Please feel free to comment on preferential brands or specific parts that would fit the bill. I'd really like to see 600whp+ on pump/meth. I apologize in advance for the poor formatting, it didn't like copy/pasting my excel spreadsheet in here. On the left should be a generic descriptor, then the specific parts/brands I am considering.

Turbo S366 Leaning toward 6262 or 6265
T3/T67
PT-6265
EMS S300
Boost control solenoid
4 Bar MAP sensor
Cams Skunk 2 Pro 1
Valve Springs
Ti Retainers
Wastegate Tial 44mm
BOV Tial 50mm
Twin Disk Clutch
Traction Bars Full Race
Motor Mounts Hasport
Intake Manifold Edelbrock
Throttle Body -70mm
Block ERL sleved B18c
Rods Manley
Pistons JE
Dual Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump
Dual Walbro hanger
Radiator Shroud/Fan
Turbo Blanket
Heat Wrap
Cam Gears
Intercooler Precision
Guages Defi
Exhaust Manifold
Downpipe
LSD Quaife
Wide 3pc Front Exospeed
Wide Wheels Exospeed or Weld
Tires
Axles
Coilovers
meth injection

I have my smaller 38mm tial WG and BOV from build 1, would it be feasable to reuse these, or would it be better/preferential to upgrade to the larger parts?

I know this probably seems like a vague post, but I'm just a couple weeks into planning, and I want to have a clearcut plan of attack once the wrenches start turning.

Looking forward to hearing some input/comments, and I've got the flame suit ready just incase

well that's good news, I don't want to skimp on anything here, I like to do things right the first time, you know, buy once, cry once. But at the same time, I don't want to be wasteful.

Edit: just realized I didn't have injectors on the list. I'll likely be reusing my 1000cc precision (or RC... I don't recall the brand off hand)

I've never seen a topmount that was AC friendly, though I would prefer it. I'm thinking a spoolin perf AC friendly manifold/ downpipe. I just can't justify Full Race manifold prices. Any other good quality AC friendly setups out there?

Well that was the initial plan, but I'll be moving to Marysville, OH when my new job starts, and I dont believe they have a station with e85.

For these power levels, you should definitely say bye bye to A/C. The fitment isn't the issue, its the fact that the A/C compressor can't take the additional heat in the bay and the rpms you're giving it. so its just a matter of time before it dies. Especially for something like 700whp. On either of these two turbochargers, you're going over 25-35psi to get to the 700+ area.

You're not even a street car to keep any A/C at that level, so either decide to be a street car and be a bit better with your expectations, or go for the sky's limit, Ditch the A/C and go for the big Topmount.. Never ask about "spool" again.

Even 1000cc won't do 700+, and E85 will max your injectors and pumps out, because its 30% less efficient BTU rate.

since you're running a Big turbo and BIG boost, one larger gate with a TiAL 46mm gate (which I'd use either way). If T4 divided for whatever you choose, 2 small 38mm would work. (so you'd only need to buy one more).

So you're saying I can't have my cake AND eat it too???

I'm not so concerned with spool time, it is what it is, and I know you have to sacrifice SOMETHING if you want either big power or street friendly.

I'd like a little more info from the master on the AC though. If the car was kept around 400whp for 90% of the time, and I didn't wind the engine out to 9 or 10k rpm, would it still not be possible to keep it? I don't dog the **** out of my cars, I drive fairly mildly MOST of the time. Every now and then I like to put a **** eating grin on my face though haha

Edit: Its almost one am here, so I'm getting sleepy, I am going to re-read your post tomorrow morning, and take it from there. I appreciate your input on this.
