Default New Turbo set-up

Hey, what's up honda-tech I have a fully built set up already. It was used for all motor was going to to spray but not a big fan of it. Now I want to boost it.

Well this is a video of the turbo kit on the car
http://www.b20vtec.com/forums/redire...725bdcb1762145
Set up consist of

84.5 gsr block eagle sleeves
11:5 comp wesico piston
Eagle rods with big bolts
Type r water pump and oil pump

Head
Gsr stock port and polish
Crower spring and retainers
With pro 1 cams(had other cams)
Custom intake manifold
Wilson 70mm tb
Fuel would be e85 on low boost and c16 on high boost
I have 1000cc bosch inj
Running a1000 aeromotive fuel pump with the fpr

Chris Miller will be tuning the car since he's been doing he tuning on the motor all resdy

The turbo kit was a custom one that tempest racing did. Turbo is a t3 35r
My brother did 663 at 25 psi on another set up we had.

What do you think Honda-tech

you'll want lower compression if your looking to get anywhere near your brothers power output..

Yea I was thinking of putting a thicker head gasket. I did not want to rip the motor apart and switch the pistons that's my last option but I mIght have to.

well even with a thicker HG, you'd probably only be able to bring it down to 10.1-10.5 range and with that I would not go higher than say 15-17psi on E85.... 84mm gsr with a nice gt35 turbo at 15psi you should see well over 400whp with pro1 cams

no, you are wrong. thanks.

Do NOT lower that compression. Make as much power as you can or want with that turbo assuming you are going to use race gas or E85.

PM me if you want details on experience, not a bunch of people reading to much honda-tech engine theory 101

yeah sorry i have less experiance than you.

the highest cr i've seen hit 600whp on pump e85 is 10.1

i'm sure others have done it with +11cr... but I can only know what i've seen first hand and talking to the tuner.

Cheers

plenty of motors on high compression out there making great power. bigger turbos love higher compression. i myself am doing a 81.5mm motor with 10:1 and regret not going with the 11:1 or 11.5:1 pistons now that i decided to go with a bigger turbo (s400 67mm) instead of the turbo i originally had ordered (precision 6262)

Yeah i would leave the compression where it is and boost around 10-15psi and get a good tune with good fuel. High compression with boost makes a very responsive motor with good spool up. Again a good tune is a must as higher compression boosted motor walks a thinner line with detention.

whats all this 10-15 psi talk? make what you want power wise, or what your setup can handle. don't limit boost unless the fuel cant take it or you are just content with medium power. I don't now what the "application" is so i can't bust your ***** lol.

Just watch the AFR but tune away. Typically with a high comp motor the turbo will spin right up, but the motor will lean out that is depending on the fuel used. Use meth and watch what occurs :-) E85 is a good alternative though and great suggestion.
