Icon2 After Market Radio Installation

Hi all.

Okay so I've purchased a new JVC head unit for my car (replacing the factory 6 Disc changer unit). I have a harness for the new head unit with all the wires coming off of it. My question is:

On the wire harness for the car itself there is a solid blue wire - what does that do? I have steering wheel controls and the SWI-X adaptor I have identifies the green/red wire as the one to connect the interface wire to. The green/red wire is in pin 3 on my 20 pin connector - the blue wire is in pin 4.

Thanks.

Typically a solid blue wire is amp remote wire. Because you said your car has a 6 disc changer, that wire may have something to do with the changer, or may actually be a power wire for a factory amp. Sounds like you must have a factory Bose stereo in your car.

Year and trim will help us to help you.
