Default Stereo help

Hey guys, I'm new to this site. May be a dumb question, but I bought a Cd5 and took the aftermarket deck out that was already in there, to put in my own. Anyways, inside where the stereo should go, there's this random white wire and I have no clue what it's for. Could anybody maybe give me ideas? The stereo will not turn on, and I think this wire has something to do with it. In the picture it shows how it was. Thanks!

That is not a factory wire. Judging by the fact that there are RCAs hanging out, I would bet that is an amp turn on wire. That wire would get connected to the blue/white wire coming off of an aftermarket radio's wire harness. If you're going to use that wire to turn on an aftermarket amp, I would definitely tape up the exposed wire showing from the side of that butt connector.

Okay, thank you!
