what cam boost hp and tq across the board over gsr's.
hey all i am currently running stock gsr cams on a mild set up/ 420 whp at 20 psi. its a stock bore gsr with eagle rods and je pistons with a skunk 2 intake, nothing extreme at all, i set the car up to run 11.50 index and as a fwd car it did that fine. im looking to gain at least 40 whp with cams and valve springs at the same boost level but i also want to gain power down low and in the mid range even more so since its more a street car then a race car. so what cams would meet or better my goals? as for valve springs i think i will be going with super tech. thanks in advance.
manifold is the go autoworks ramhorn with 44mm gate and turbo is a bullseye brand made for go autoworks, greg claims it flows 55/ib. other then that they dont release much about it. its this kit and the default turbo in this kit http://www.go-autoworks-store.com/goprokit.html
You want cams that will seal in cylinder pressure @ low rpm and mid range. Skunks won't do that. The Pro1s are more like a high end cam. There are cams out there with higher lift than the CTR cams, so why get CTRs? I would say go with Crower or Brian Crower. Big power down low and mid range. Don't expect too much over 8500rpm though.

That's the S256 using a .55A/R turbine housing with a P-trim wheel. At that case use something subtle like CTRs (if staying OEM), Web Cam stage 1s or Skunk2 Tuner 1s. Brian Crower is up to you, but I actually refused a free pair presented to me because of quality control issues from over the years. (again, only my experience)
ok now i guess i should ask are they the same or will one perform better? i had type r cams in a old build but never compared the out put to normal gsr cams so i dont know what sort of gains they offer.
