Re: cam question
-B16a2 whole motor
-turbo kit en route
-stock pr3 rods
-LS pistons
want to run 10-12lbs boost, want to do cams and gears to help it along.
i am also installing dual springs, new valves, possible port job. i want to run h-beam rods but dont really wana buy pistons. will be installing ARP rod bolts/head studs. i have seen several cams for these motors. ITR sounds like its sposed to be good or maybe skunk stage 2...i am very new to acuras/hondas and boost. i am more of a late model chevy LS1,LS2,LS3 GUY.
hope this info helps(i know its a little scattered)

Re: cam question
You are all over the place, sounds like you really do not know much about running a turbo. I would chill out and read up in the forced induction sub forum and read all the FAQs and regroup.
Sorry to sound like a dick, but shooting for 300 WHP, I believe you can run a stock blocka nd head and achieve it. Maybe some others can chime in.

Re: cam question
its cool man i have thick skin lol...
maybe this will clarify. this is what i want to do:
-b16a2
-10-12 lbs
-h-beam rods
-arp hardware
-stock LS pistons
what i rreally need to know is how much boost the stock LS pistons can handle and what cams to go with..ill run close to as much boost as the pistons will allow. i can spend the money on rods but not pistons

Re: cam question
First rule of Boost, different sized turbos create different amounts of power at the same amount of boost.
Think of a turbo the size of a penny on 10lbs boost, you might only create 1-2 more HP, think of one of those giant single turbos you see on a Supra or any other race car, 10lbs of boost on those may net you 500-700 extra HP. The extra Power is what snaps components.

Re: cam question
You can't run stock pistons on those rods.
And no, it doesn't clarify anything. How did you buy a turbo kit without knowing what you wanted it to do? What size injectors do you need? Engine management?

Re: cam question
Why all the focus on cams and H beam rods? I don't see any interest in what's probably the most important aspect, engine management (and tuning).

Re: cam question
See above. You don't need any damn cams for your little goals. Only people with domestic backgrounds are stuck on cams all the time. These engines are already fine tuned. Unless you start talking about an aftermarket EMS, which you will need ANYWAY if you start messing with internals, leave the engine stock.
Like was mentioned, how you are looking for specific answers when you don't even know what goes into boosting a car makes no sense. This "just answer the question" mentality has to cease when it is obvious people see you need additional help or are barking up the wrong tree. To disregard advice when it is given to you is like continuing to stand on train tracks while people are screaming at you the express is coming.
