Default Avital Keyless entry

So i just got back home and when i was getting in my car before i took off i had difficulty with my remote opening my door after like 2 minutes it finally opened the door when i got home i was going to close my car with the keyless entry and my remote did not flash or anything i tapped it on the roof of my car and it started working again well kind off my remote lights flash and everything when i hold the buttons but when i try to lock the car or anything the car doesnt react im wondering what could be the problem idk which model of the avital it is ill pull it tomorrow

thats the thing i did change the battery for a new one well one that i bought like 7 months ago and it was just sitting around could it be the remote though since it blinks when i press the buttons

When I used to sell the Avital systems we were always selling replacement remotes because of how offten they broke. Buy a 4113 or 4103 remote from online they are cheap and just reprogram it and see if that works. Good luck

For the time being can i just unplug my alarm unit and my car will run fine right?

Depending on how it was installed most likely it will just disarm the alarm brain and you should be fine worst case if your car acts up just plus it back in.

I fixed it i took the remote apart and i cleaned off the whole circut board and buttons now it works perfect
