You don't feel it or it's bogging out? Which is it? Any CELs? If you don't want your thread locked you need to state all the car details.

B18C1's aren't known for having a rough transition into vtec last I remember.

Do you want the transition to be rough?

Your thread title and 1st post seem to say two totally different things. What is it really doing?

It's supposed to be engage smooth.

Check the vtec solenoid gaskets. Clean it/replace the gaskets.

Also, when is the last time the car has had a tune up? Did you check the ignition timing?

How do you have a P28, a SINGLE CAM ECU, running a GSR and not have it chipped and tuned? Worser is not a word.

You need to get the ecu chipped, and tuned.

A base map, made for your specific engine/mods will do for a little for a while, if you can't afford to have it done now.
However, you do need to have it dyno tuned.
