Hi guys im new to the forum, like this my first post new! Lol
Basicly i have an EK9 and it has a fault with the heater control panel cutting out, the heated rear screen, re-circ, air con and heater fan all do it also the headlights flicker and it happens when the accelerator is held in a cirtain position..... I removed the centre control panel and checked broken wires etc.....nothing, i checked the alternator charging incase it was spiking or dipping below the recommended charge and it was charging at 12.7v off load thats way to low so i replaced the alternator and now its charging at 14.6v ideal! BUT its still playing up! Im stumped now to be honest all i can think is there is a bad earth somewhere or a dodgy relay but ive checked them all!

I know you guys in the u.s dont get the ek9 but im hoping someone can help

Have you checked for a loose fuse or loose connector at the rear of the heater control panel? With respect to the heater control panel, do you know whether the EK9 is more like a USDM 96-98 Civic or a USDM 99-00 Civic? Post a picture of the heater control panel.

 

Sorry forgot to mention im in the UK, the car is a japanese import its the type R 6th gen hatch the heater contols go up the right side of the panel and the air con, re-circ and heated rear screen buttons are along the bottom under the double din cd player.
Ive taken the whole panel out and checked it so im confident its nothing behind there unless the whole panel itself is faulty i
Going to investigate into it further today and ill report back on what and if i find anything........

that is wierd about it only happening at a certain gas pedal location. hate to say but you just have to trace wires. check grounds!

 

Right after the most pointless day at work on my week off i have still come to no conclusion, i removed the fuse box completly checked all earths under the dash and in the engine bay all tight and not corroded also copper greased the bolts that secure them! Check all wires for chafing and breaks all fine, auto electrician time? I think so!
Unless you guys can come up with anything? Im well and truly stumped! The only thing left is the acctual fuse box or the heater control panel i dont just want to replace them as im skint so need to know it will fix it before i buy it lol
