Default Removing gauge cluster trim to remove gauge cluster?

I have seen a couple tutorial on removing the cluster trim to get the cluster out, but they basically say to remove the two screws and the one under the hazard switch. I have done so and gotten the whole right side loose and pulled, but the left hand side at the top of the vent will not come loose at ALL. What is the trick here? I have all around the vent free except at the top of the vent. My cluster lights don't work and need to get back there. Any help/tips would be hugely appreciated.

I'm guessing you're talking about a 92-95 since you didn't list ANY car details.

yeah i think he's talking about the 92-95 too cause he said under the hazzard switch and the vents... but there are clips holding it in make sure you pull them out slowly and they should unclip there shouldnt be anything else holding it

Yeah, it is a 92 vx. I can see them on the top of the vent if I pull it out, but just can't seem to figure out how it unclips. I can't pull anymore or it will break. Anyone have any tips on the clip or a photo or info on how to unclip it? Thanks.

there's no trick.. just do it. if it breaks, you did it wrong.

Great tip, unfortunately that is not how I do things. I figure/find the right way and then do it, not after I break it and then go back.

what he means is that that's actually the proceedure. you pull them outwards, they are just clips, there is no way around it, just gently pull out, as close to the clip as possible without breaking anything lol. what do you want from us?

Like has been said, there's no real secret to it, once you've got the screws out, you just pull. Only thing I would change as far as the advice so far is "gently", don't do it gently, get your fingers under the back side to support it at the clip, and give it a good hard, yank. It will pop out, the clips will probably fall off the plastic tabs, just stick them back on.
