Default Need Help!!! 95 civic ex sometimes won't start

Hi guys, I have a really quick question. Hope you guys are able to help me out here. So i have a 95 civic ex coupe 5 speed manual trans. btw its a short shifter, and i recently bought the car. The problem that i am having is that the car sometimes start and sometimes it doesn't? It start and runs but sometime it does not want too. It makes the starting noise. at first i thought it was a bad battery and got that check at autozone they said its in good working condition. then i switch out the battery terminal cause its is loose and my car started up fine till the next day i moved out onto the drive way and left it there and went to start it again it doesn't want to start. till i disconnect the battery for about 15 minutes then hook it back up and then it would turn on again. Anyone having the same problem? or can anyone give me option or any opinion out there? Can anyone help me?!

Sounds to me like you may have a bad relay. But also check your terminals again. And try swapping out your ecu for another p28 ecu.

There is a main relay under the dash thats where i would start. I would also check the ecu ground on the thermostat housing. Does the car ever stall out after you have it running? CEL?

Yeah this one time it did. My feet was still on the clutch. First it was like this. I just plug inmy battery and it started again, as i was reversing and all of a sudden, it shut off/stall. oh also this other time. when i was rolling up my window it just shut off too, i was on neutral..Thanks!

Does it always turn over or does it just not do anything when you turn the key sometimes. I would take a look at all your engine grounds and make sure they are all good and tight and not corroded or broken.

Sorry, im not sure what you mean by turn over. but when i turn the key it start normally sometimes but when it doesn't you just hear the starting car noise but it wont start. Until i disconnect the battery and let it sith there for at least 15 to 20 mins. i think thats what you mean? sorry I'm a bit slow. yeah ill definitely check all my engine grounds too. btw how many Engine Ground Does a civic 95 ex have? sorry again. thanks though!!

Im not sure how many there are but to rule it out you could just ground the **** out of the motor. Ive had to do it on a few of my cars.

It could be. If you dont have a good ground then you can have weak or no spark at times. This would allow your car to turn over (the starter turning the motor) but not start. A bad ecu ground can also cause this as well.

Is this a no-crank problem or a cranks but won't start problem?

Next time it doesn't start watch and see if the check engine light comes on for two seconds and goes off and you should also hear a click under the dash(this is normal), if not:
