96 civic lxi rev limiter
I need some opinion. I have observed that my car can't reach a higher rpm. I could get only up to 6200 rpm on lower gears and then the fuel cuts on and off. On 5th gear, I can only reach 4800 rpm and the fuel cuts for 1 to 2 seconds before it comes back. Shouldn't I be getting more out of a civic? Engine is a non vtec d15b, P2C ecu,P2A-8 head. What could be the cause of a limited rpm? What can be done? ECU swap? Fuel pump upgrade?

Re: 96 civic lxi rev limiter
On first gear, it cuts at 6200rpm ( 55kph). On second gear 6200rpm( 110kph). On 5th gear, 4800 rpm ( 190kph). The engine is a d15b, much smaller than the 2001. A friend has a 98 civic A/T with a d15z4. He said he was able to reach 200kph and there was more coming. If there is a speed limiter, how do I disable it?

Re: 96 civic lxi rev limiter
Yes car is not for racing. Does it mean 6200rpm is all it got? I have read previous threads indicating that a d15b can do better even if stock.ECU currently is a p2c (stock).Any ecu recommendation that will provide additional HP that will match a d15b and a stock harness for 96 lxi?
