97 Del Sol with y7/z6 mini me rev-ing problems
Ok guys heres the deal...
I have a 97 del sol si. I had the d16y8 in it (the stock engine, which was swapped by me with another y8), stock ecu as well.
It started acting up whenever I would hit about 3000 rpm it would act almost like it was hitting a rev-limiter kinda.
Sometimes the engine would just shut off and I would have to turn the ignition key completely to the off position then back to the on position and let out the clutch while i was rolling to bump start it and it would run, but still at certain rpms it would have the same problem.
Sometimes I can rev the whole way to vtec crossover and it would act like I was hitting a rev limiter kinda.
So I just did a y7/z6 mini me swap, using the z6 dizzy, y8 (p2a) ecu
y8 intake manifold, fuel rail injectors, throttle body, etc. everything is obd2
except the z6 head of course.
I thought it was distributor problems so i tried 5 or 6 different ones all of which did not solve the problem.
I also am running an MSD 6A ignition box and sc blaster coil. I tried the stock coil as well and the same problem.
So I bought a new z6 distributor and wired it correctly to my obd2 main harness.
It runs better but still have the same problem. My CEL is on and saying TDC sensor and CYP sensor I believe is the second one, both are sensors inside the distributor, whivh is why I figured all i needed was a new dizzy, but still the new dizzy did not solve the problem.
All my ground wires are good ive checked ALLLL of them at least a dozen times.
One of my buddies said he had the same problem on his hatch and it was his TPS, which I had swapped out a while ago with a used one when i had the y8 in it and it was running fine.
Its really puzzling me. Could it be the main relay or possibly my Throttle Position Sensor???
Any input would be greatly appreciated as i am stumped. If you need any more details lemme know, again running the y8 obd2 ecu on the z6 head with y8 intake mani assembly.
Also I had the problem on the old y8 that was in it so thats why im thinking its possibly the main relay or who knows it could be the tps...
Thanks in advance for any input...

ok yeah great, but that still doesnt solve my problem or even help at all considering i stated that i have all ready tried the stock ignition with the same problems.
