97 EX Y8 swap into a 93 Del Sol Si in place of Z6
Did a bunch of searching with several different search strings and came up pretty empty. Found a bunch of B info though.
I am picking up a 97 EX low miles Y8 to replace the tired oil burning Z6 in my 93 Del Sol. Swap includes motor, tranny, axles, intake, injectors with harness, ECU, ect so it is pretty complete swap.
Knowng that the motor is a 97 and OBDII and my car is not what problems am I going to run into? In other words what is not going to plug up? I want to keep this as simple and straight forward as possible with no major swapping and hacking of harnesses so if it is better to use the stock 93 ECU and engine harness I will but am not sure if it will plug up to the sensors on the Y8.

yes that is correct. the y8 will have a couple extra sensors but that will be for obd2 car, so make sure you mark the plugs that you will not need. ie. second o2 sensor, intake air temp in the intake tube, sensor for the charcole canister and another sensor on top of the intake manifold ( its a black sensor for obd2, not sure what it does). 98ctr

Re: (98ctr)
Great, thanks for the info. Are there any concerns with vacuum lines or all the ports pretty straight forward and similar between the two intake manifolds?
