A/C compressors interchangeability
Did a quick search but nothing useful came up.
Couple of questions:
Trying to figure out which a/c compressor interchange on D16
1. I'm assuming that Y7/Y8 a/c compressor are the same. Can someone confirm?
2. Do Z6/A6 compressors interchange with Y7/Y8 (assuming y7/y8 are the same) ?
I have a Del Sol with Y7 block and z6 head and I'm trying to figure out which one to get.
Also I have a few more questions about heater cores
3. Do any of those interchange?

You always want the compressor for the car you have, and find a bracket that fits it to your engine. This eliminates line problems as most of the compressors have lines in different locations physically, and any different in pulley position.

Ah, but they did, '96 & '97 models came with a D16Y7

Alright, you got me but those are pretty damn rare and chance of finding a compressor that works from them is probably pretty slim
So do any of them interchange? lol
My biggest question is if y7 and y8 use same a/c compressor or not. Because I can get those from civics all day long.

Re: (RNPoo7)
i can't confirm, but i would suggest you get a D16Z6 compressor, i assume the ones for a D15B7/B8 are the same as well, and use that, i think the Y7 bracket will work fine, i'm not even sure that the brackets are different. Just make sure you get the right compressor for the year of the car, '93 del sols should be R12 unless they are different than the civics, all other years should be R134a.

Re: (94EG8)
So it depends on whatever bracket is matted to my Y7 block, right?
See here's the problem. This is what I started out with. Nothing came with the car.
So I don't know what fits "like stock"

Look through here and find out which ones fit which blocks. I think I have two Z6 compressors around here and some lines and condensers from 92-95 civics.
Have a heater core and a/c core too from civic's.

Mine is a 95. Wait, I lost you. Why are you recommending a z6 compressor again?
