B18C1 low compression on 2 holes help please!!
I did a compression test on my wifes B18C1 motor that I just rebuild because of compression issues. I have been driving it around for about 3 weeks and it runs and drives fine it just has no power and a loud angry tick with acceleration. I was a little ticked off with the results of the compression because the are the same as they were before the rebuild.... the test turned out like this... #1-210 #2-120 #3-90 #4-210 it makes me think it has bent valves because I put oil in both holes with low comprtession and it stayed the same so it points at headgasket witch i know sealed right or bent valve... what do you all think??
You didn't get the head checked out when rebuilding? Valves adjusted?
I don't see how it drives fine if it has no power and ticking upon acceleration.

Nope I did not touch the head other than a valve adjustment and valve cover gasket and cam seals and tune up parts spark plugs wires ect, I didnt have any reason to the car has 75k miles on it I didnt even expect to have compression issues let alone valve issues. she is the second owner of the GSR and all the reciepts from honda on service. I was told by the guy at the honda service dept that it had to be piston rings so I replaced everything in the bottom end along with the bearings, oil pump, water pump, timeing belt, and head gasket all from honda. I also replaced the pistons them self after a fresh hone with a set of JDM p73 pistons and rods.

So did you assemble it or did Honda do it? If so how did the rings look like?
Maybe the Previous owner or your wife miss shifted while in high loads?

I assembled it myself, the rings and the cylinder walls were in perfect condition I was amazed but I still decided to hone it for piece of mind. it is very possiable that the owner before over reved it because my wife doesnt race it, I beat on it from time to time haha but I have never missed a gear and over reved... and when i pulled the spark plug out of both hole #2 and #3 they were almost pitch black?? Im gonna do a leak down test tonight and see what I come up with...
Did the leak down test I have 2 bent valves on #2 and 1 bent valve on the intake side of #3... that explains why the rings didnt set on hole #2... and why they didnt set very well on #3.. time to tear it all down ...

You sure the bottom end is hurt? I'd be tempted to fix the bent valves and see if the compression comes back up since it didn't move when you put a cap of oil in it during the compression test.
