Help! Auto transmission not shifting in gear
96 accord auto. I went to start my car then I put it in drive press the gas car not moving I put it in R D3 2 1 same thing. So cut the car off for a couple second turn the car back on every gear works. Then it would drive for less than a minute the car stop moving what can this be
1st idear: I check the tranny oil it was good. The I found out for me to make the car move I have to unplug the battery and ecu for few minutes then plug it back in then the car moves but once I put in park and put it back in gear won't move so I need a ecu
2nd ideas did today: Ok update I did today I check the connection on the sift solenoid valve it was good start the car same thing no movement. So I unplug the ecu and the battery for about 10 to 15 minute. Then I plug the up the ecu first the the battery start the car. Then I put the car in d4 it drive off. I went to autozone its about 5min away from my home to scan the CEL only got two codes P0122 P0450. The car flet like it staying in one gear not shifting. So I went back home it's drove for like 2 minutes are less. Had to cut the car off the start it back made it home. Am thing shift solenoid is bad

The two shift solenoids sit on top of the transmission. Try tapping them gently to see if one is sticking. They are controlled by the smaller ECU. When you disconnect the battery you reset the error codes in the ECU. If everything works fine for any length of time after that it suggests the ECU is picking up an error and stops actuating the shift solenoids again. Or the ECU stops working correctly. Odds are the problem is the ECU. At least my 90 accord will let me have 1st and 3rd. That is enough to drive around town. Jim
