Default VAFC on D16y8 w/ p28

should i expect any gains on my stock d16y8 w/ headers + intake?

if i set VTEC engagement lower (like 4500 instead of stock 5200), will that give me more power when vtec engages?

is it really worth spending $200 on it, or am I better off getting an exhaust or something...?

a VAFC is a waist of money! get your ecu socketed and chipped with a base map for far cheaper.

No.

You can't just set the vtec point to some number and expect more power.
To do this properly you need dyno time to tune it.

This is kind of connected to my question. I have an obd 1 b16, if I chip the ecu and tune on the dyno with cam gears, will I see more power ?? How much more??

No way to tell how much, but I wouldn't waste $ on a tune for just cam gears. Just a guess, but maybe 5~10hp???
Make it worth your while and get IHE and a nice set of cams to go with the cam gears.
