Fully Built 84mm GSR Turbo overheating
Im having Cooling issiues with my GSR turbo in a 92 civic, Ive replaced every single part that has to do with cooling, 3 headgaskets a set of arp headstuds, water pump etc. last time the head was pulled out they milled the head and re installed, car is still over flowing the Coolant resivor. pls guys help me out here.
pressure check the cooling system. if it checks and the water pump is good you need more radiator capacity and or airflow through it or a combo of both
it's really that simple

If you still have the head off I would ask a machine shop if you could rent a deck guage to make shure your sleeves havent droped even the smallest amount. I have seen this problem multiple times with sleeved blocks sometimes the difference is so small u cant see it or fill it. does it over heat only in boost or just cruising? is the fan a one way blade design and maybe facing the wrong way and or wired wrong ive seen that a bunch also..
Cometic 84mm Headgasket, Koyo race type radiator with koyo 1.3 bar cap, a really strong fan its a good brand, I paid 240 just for the fan, water pump is brand new, thermostat is new. when i get into boost the coolant resevor gets filled with coolant, adventually there is air in the system.

had same problem was a sleeve that sunk a slight bit coudnt even tell bye eye everytime the car boosted over 23lbs it filled my reservior or poped a hose and stay away from those cometics only had problems with those head gasket oem the best or Golden Eagle oversized oem gasket
If you have finger nails run it where the sleeve meets the suface of the block and check to see if it feels like it has an edge if it does its a sleeve and check the warpage on the block with a square and use a .002 feller gauge and slide under the sqaure also quick ? how much boost before u have theis problem
i was having a problem with my sohc turbo a long time ago and it was the intercooler blocking off part of the radiator...
make sure the radiator gets enough airflow, because when it gets hot and builds pressure the cap will let the coolant go into the overflow
do a pressure test , the do a leakdown test with the radiator full and cap off to see if there is pressure coming from somewhere else if you put air in the cylinders and water over flows out of the radiator you have a problem
good luck with it

yeah im also using the 84mm ge gasket.
hows your total timing on the tune? did u try pulling it back 2 degrees to see?
there has been good advice in this thread about having the block and head surfaces checked for being true

if it is heating up under boost it most definetly probabley the sleeves... ive been building and tuning hondas for a long time and seen this happen many and many of times.. I had a d sleeved 6 times before the motor would work right the shitty part is it was a customers car so I didnt get paid for five of them. and for head gaskets oem or golden eagle thats my preference.
