key on engine off tach reads 1000 rpm
I have been reading all kinds of threads here and on other forums and I still have not found a definate answer for this issue. Its a 92 Lude with an EL gauge cluster. It has been in the car for years with no problem so its not like its just been installed with a problem. Some say it could be a wire inside the distributor, others say might be the cluster. I know sonce I have had motor mount inserts for a few years, the dash vibrates quite a bit more than it used to. Could over time the vibration possibly made something loose on te circuit board? THanks for reading this long post and please try to help me figure this one out.
It is very possible that the vibrations caused some damage.
Yes, the clusters are known to have some issues eventually - as well as the distributor.
Check the dizzy first then move onto the cluster - i'm sure you can find another through a partout on one of the prelude forums if need be.
