Is it difficult to remove the AC system from an EJ1?
I am thinking about removing my AC system since it does not hold a charge anymore, (last 15 years, cant go wrong lol). Also the fact that I don`t want to spend $300 on a new compressor. Is there anything special that I need to do other than to discharge the system?
yeah since its discharged it'll save alot of time.
you basically just remove the compressor, condensor, and evaporator from behind the glove compartment
the only challenging feat will be removing lines because they'll be routed through some nooks and crannies that'll make it difficulty to get through

dude dont do it. you or the next person that owns the car will want ac. i took mine out and i regret it im buying all the stuff to put it back in. but its your choice. its easy to take out and has scrap value.

Cut the belt is the easiest.
I have an extra compressor if you're interested, came off my car but I installed a turbo so it doesn't fit.
