im putting a z6 head on a a6 block but i wanted to know wut is the best way to take of the gasket resudo.its like melted a little.i think i read sumwhere its bad to do wit a razor but i dont know.

 

You can use a razor but you have to be VERY CAREFULL. Any scratches could cause bad sealing of the new gasket. If you want to be safe they make this gasket remover that you attach to a drill bit. They sell it at autozone/harbor freight I dont know what its called exactly.

plastic nylon sponge like one of these. abrasive enough to get that stuff off, but won't scratch or score the soft aluminum. use with a degreaser.
