I'm putting a y8 head on a z6 block and I needed to know which headgasket to use. I went to honda thinking they would be the same but they do have a different part number. Unfortuneately they didnt have the z6 gasket in stock for me to compare. Oh and the z6 gasket is $60 while the y8 gasket is $30, I wonder what thats about.

Bump for knowing what headgasket to use.

Just compare the gasket thickness and bore diameter to determine what is better for you.

Oh I have. They have minor looking differences but I don't see how the dealer wants double for the z6 gasket, if they were the same price or had the same part number this thread wouldn't have been made.

Thanks for the input though. Anyone else have any more input? I know someone has had to research this when doing a mini-me swap or replacing a headgasket.
