Brake caliper mounting piece...
I have Baer Brakes on my car, and i am going to get the fastbrakes ITR kit for my car so i can use 15" wheels. Do you think the Baer Brakes came with specific pieces to mount those calipers, or do they use the stock ones? I did not buy the kit, they came on the car.
Each would have their own mounting brackets. The Baer's are 4-piston Alcon calipers, and teh ITR calipers are 1 piston sliding....the differences in design, size, and caliper shape necessitate using their individual mounting brackets.

OEM are direct mounted, any after market kit would have what is refered to as a hanger,(bracket). I think what the last poster was refering to to as sliding is more commonly known as floating. not all after market kits are floating. The reason for Hangers on the after market kit is the relocation of the caliper in relation to the new rotor size
Post Script:
THe Baer's are not all manufactured by alcon. most of there street app's are two piston models, but there are also four and six piton applications

The term sliding is not the same thing as floating. Floating refers to rotor design, and sliding refers to caliper design.
Floating rotors allow a bit of lateral wobble. This allows the caliper, solely, to dictate the how the pads interact with the rotor surface.

They come together.
The bracket is the part that mounts to the hub and carries the brake pads. The caliper only functions to squeeze the pads.
