Ok so i was driving out the interstate the other day and speedo and tach keep going dead. I arrived at my destination and went to start my car it starts and dies. Now the speedo lights flash and main relay clicks like crazy. Acts like a short or something

Sorry its a 93 civic with b17, has been together for 8 years and always ran great

 

Sounds like an ignition switch or battery ground issue.

 

Ok thanks, ill check that out. When the dash lights and all that are flickering i can move the key just a little and it goes back to the normal key on position, but never will start tries to then just kinda fludders and dies.

 

There's a diagram in the FAQs sticky that shows how to test the ignition switch.

 

maybe one of your grounds is loose. double check all of them and also the little plug that goes into the starter.
