Default Mini me swap Burning oil after sea foam

wuts up HT i just have a problem in need of a answer.

i have a 97 civic with a D15b7 block and y8 head, the motor always burned oil but only when i passed 4k, i decided to fog my motor with seafoam to clean out some of the carbon in hopes that carbon build up was the culprit.

well long story short it made the oil consumption worse...i burn oil when ever i pass 3k, ive done a compression test and cyclinders 2 and 3 are lower then 1 and 4 which leads me to believe that my HG is shot but im also concerned that its my valve seals that are leaking oil...worse case scenario its my oil rings.

does anyone know of anyway that i can correctly test my motor to really pinpoint exactly whats wrong with it?

do a leakdown test and it will answer your questions as to whats the culprit.

seafoam is bad stuff on high mileage motors.. You're loosening the carbon build up that actually sealed up the rings...

is there white smoke or black smoke coming out your exhaust when you keep it rev above 3k? and is there any oil in your coolant?

I think you should prepare for the major tune up on your car, if you want to keep it for a few more years, which I would it's a nice commute car. I just did mine recently! not fun but the car def are happier...

Yup. This has been reported in the past. If you weren't the original owner of the car and you don't know it's maintenance history or you haven't maintained the engine as you should have I would not even TRY and risk this happening on an engine. It would probably hurt more than help.

Just get a JDM replacement. If you don't have X-ray vision you'll never be able to tell.

Coolant is clean...havent flushed it since i got it...just added seeing it was low, the car was hurt when i got her...Body kit, spray painted, cobb job core support after a accident, auto to manual conversion...the list can go on for days.

im not to worried about it i have another block and a brand new head at home but i was taking my time building them...so i guess ill speed up the process and take this motor out b4 it dies and leaves me stranded.

Seafoam had nothing to do with this, your likely running very rich and the excess fuel has washed out the rings. Seafoam just aggravated the problem. You have a high mileage stock D15 and you have a 255lph pump in the tank? what injectors?
