2nd Gear WTF?!
Hey I've got a 06' Si with an Injen CAI and from time to time when I get on it and switch from first to second it's like it bogs down and loses power almost like its dropping out of VTEC, but then other time it goes in perfectly fine and pulls hard. I can't seem to figure out what the problem is, any ideas?
I know with the stock intakes, when you get up around 6500rpm, it can create a lot of turbulance. Just make sure the silicon coupler on your CAI is ok and there are no gaps.
Also you might want to check the MAF. Make sure there are no bugs or debris on it. Spray it with throttle body cleaner out side of the car. Then reinstall.

Could it be you are running out of fuel, possibly the fuel pump is not keeping up, I would have said fuel filter but these cars do not have them.
Does it matter how much fuel you have in the tank when this problem starts?

When I installed my intake I made sure everything was tight and fit right so i dont think there are any gaps in anything but did it with the stock intake as well. I'd love to get a FlashPro but that will have to wait a while unless i could find a used one or something. But as the amount of fuel goes it does it whether its full or on E. However, I have figured out that when shifting into second instead of shifting real fast if i go slow as if i were normally driving it seems to do it less. idk seems like the car has a mind of its own some time. hah.

Had the same problem when I put on my CAI. It went away when I update the computer with the COBB AP. Any time I sent back to the stock map it would start again. I also would throw a check light that would say the car was running to rich. The light would sometimes go away by itself but then return later.
it has traction control, its called VSA, or, Vehicle Stability Assist. You can turn it off by depressing the button on the dash to the left of the steering column.
however, it sounds like you may be describing a feeling sometimes associated with the drive-by-wire system. sometimes if you don't hit a shift just right the throttle will lag and you get a quick bogging sensation. its a much different feeling than that of shifting a car with a traditional throttle cable. the throttle lag can also be alleviated by the installation of Hondata FlashPro.

I don't think that is it. I am not shifting when that happens. I just put my foot on the gas a little to speed up from 2500 to 3500 and it bogs. If I am trying to get on it it does them dame thing. It does seem to get better after the car is warmed up a little, but still happens. It did happen when I first put the CAI on but as soon as I changed the mapping of the computer it changed it for the cai and went back to the stock map it happened. I can not go back to the stock map now on the ECU with out this problem. So I just use the map set up for the CAI.
