so i got off work and because my car is leaking oil i had to put oil in it, well i check my dipstick and put oil in my car, but i forgot to put the oil cap back on, i drove for about 30 mins, and when i pulled up to my girl house my engine had a nasty ticking or tapping sound, i waited a day and choose to look at the dipstick it says i have a little bit in it but still at between 1500 to 3000 rpms its screams at me...what could this be?

Does your oil pressure light go off? Could be the oil pump or maybe a rod knock. My guess would be that the car ran low on oil and now has a rod knock but its only a guess.
