Causes of low oil pressure..
The other day coming home from work my oil light flickered on while the motor was at idle. I pulled off and checked my oil level and it was fine, about the top hole on the dipstick. I noticed the light would go off as soon as I slightly revved the engine.
My motor is beginning to sound like ****... there is some knocking going on, but I don't think it's actual rod knock. I can feel the knocking through the clutch pedal. It speeds up as i rev the engine, and it seems to be present at different loads the motor takes. For example, the knocking will be loud at 10% throttle, but will go away at 20-30% throttle.
No doubt my motor is dying due to low oil pressure. What are some causes of low oil pressure when the right amount is in? Bad oil pick up?
Forgot to mention, it's a turbo y7/y8

Could be a simple as a bad oil pump. Maybe it got disconnected, maybe there is debris or sludge in it.
Faulty sensor or sensor contacts corroded.
wrong oil might also do it.

Yeah.. was thinking it was a bad oil pump
also forgot to add, vtec is engaging properly, too... My bearings and crank are probably in pretty bad shape. Anyone have any idea how much that would cost me?

How many miles are on the motor?
It could be a bad oil pump, but the oil pump itself doesn't create pressure, just flow. You're probably getting a bearing knock, low oil pressure can be caused by worn bearing clearances in the crankshaft journal as well. Since you have a knock from the motor, I'd guess that this is your underlying problem.

It is most likely a bad rod bearing. The rod bearings --specifically #4 is fed last in the motor--mains are fed, then rods. If your oil light was flickering at idle AND you heard a clanging noise, its 99% a bearing that is about to spin. I would take the car off the road and pull the motor--if you keep driving it you could harm the crank.

Excessive bearing clearance is the cause of your low oil pressure. I advise you fix it ASAP before it costs you even more.

Explain to me just how an oil pump becomes "disconnected"?
Oil pressure is created by bearings, seals and oil galleys. How many mile are on the engine? Has it been beaten on? Do you feel any loss of power? How often is the oil changed?
