Hi Guys,

I have a 1997 Del Sol that was running just fine, and the next morning the car would NOT even make any clicking noise, the headlights look bright, and the battery is only 7 months old

I have replaced the internals of the starter and took it to Advance Auto and it checks out, also if I connect the positive battery terminal to the starter, it cranks but the car would not start.

I also picked up a starter relay since I was at the auto store, tried it and no luck. Please tell me that the metal tab on top of the relay is NOT ground by any chance, is it? since I only undid the harness from the old one and connected to the new one, and gave it a shot.

Also checked the little black piece on top of clutch and it is also there.

Now I am left with the Ignition Switch and the Distributor, I think

Do I have to undo any SRS harnesses when checking the continuity in the Ignition switch?, the battery has been out for few days, and the manual does not state to do so, but there is a warning on the page?

Car, 1997 Del Sol VTEC with B16A2, MT

Symptoms: When I turn the key, there is no clicking sound at all, the usual Dash Lights come on and the headlights are bright (also the battery is new 6 months old)

The starter has been refurbished, tested and passed at Advance Auto
A replacement relay was tried and it did not help either
The little black switch on top of clutch is intact also

I will be checking the Ignition switch today for continuity, as explained below

Is the rubber stopper that pressed on the starter switch at the top of the clutch pedal missing?

Is the G3 transmission ground wire clean and tight?
