about a week ago I had to get a new battery for my del sol (95 vtec) and so after I changed it , it was running great, and I took it to get inspected and when I brought it back it was sitting for a weekend and I got into my car to move it and it wouldnt start. I put my key into it and it beeped like it does when you put the key in and I turned it over to accesory and then once I turned it to start it, it just clicked. So i fgure it was my alternator. Today I went outside and i tried to jump it and it wouldnt turn over at all. It beeps a little but its not the normal beep that comes on when you put the key in. And when I put my foot on the brake it stopped beeping. I dunno what the problem is, I dunno if the problem is my alternator or a ground problem. Please help me

I checked the battery and its fine, and its a new one anyway

It sounds like a ground to me. That or the starter. Have you checked your fuses?

Check all the fuses in the fuse box under the hood. If you need a fuse puller, its in the fuse box inside the car.

check the fuses, but the clicking sounds like a battery, but it could be the starter. Check and make sure you are getting power to the starter.

More than likely it is a bad connection. As long as your battery is good. If the lights are dim you said the beep went away when you put your foot on the brake. Check your ground on the battery all the way to the body and the block(if it has one). Make sure there is no corrosin in these locations. If this is good then check to make sure you are getting 12 volts to your starter wire at the starter when some one tries to start it for you. If all is well, then like others are saying it is the starter. But do these checks before you go throwing a starter at it. Because there is no feeling like buying a starter and putting it on and nothing happens. Kind of a sick pissed off my timing belt just broke at 8100 rpm feeling in your stomach.

haha thanks. I'll deff have to try those things. If those dont work I dunno what to do. I think its a bad ground somewhere.

You might want to check for corrosion on the wires that connect to the battery terminals too. If you don't have corrosion, and your grounds are good, then get a multimeter on your starter wires.

I talked to some friends of mine and I believe it mayyy be the main relay ... but I dunno

I dont believe its the main relay now, I believe it may be a bad ground but I would really love to figure out whats wrong with it.

Did it do this before u replaced battery?
I think you might have to check out the fuse box to see where there is an amp draw with the car sitting.

Then again, if battery is still fully charged then the starter might be suspect. You can always take it off and take it to a shop and have it tested.

If you have a volt meter, touch pos and neg terminals of batt with appropriate leads and read sitting battery voltage. Should be around 12 to 12.6.
Once car is running, it should read around 14 with no accessories turned on.
