So what mods are the must do for my new si?
tein and skunk2 always used to be the names to go with... im a big JDM and CF *****, so help me out!!!
do the cars still use vtec controllers?
any suggestions or thoughts welcome...

stay away from tein coils, for 8th civic, unless you getting the flagship model, the valving for the struts is no where close to even the cheap knock offs.
But to me the first is either full suspension, with camber kits OR
I/h/E w/ flashpro makes it a completely different car, the stock tune on the car is such a let down, if u have had a b-series, you said you had a h22, but not really the same.
But the vtec point is way to high with a high redline, where if you don't shift exactly at the sweet spot, you fall out of vtec when you shift into the next consecutive gear

CAI will get you the most bang for the buck as far as starter mods go. I went with the Injen as it's a true cold air intake grabbing it's air from down in the fenderwell, not the engine compartment. Be warned, however, it's a b*tch of an install but there are plenty of good how-to's on the various forums that will walk you through it.
