Default ? y7 on a z6 and tranny ?

i swaped the block on my stock car had a y7 put on a z6 block not firing on #1 and #2 also im hitting 8000 in second before the flag stand could i go with the z6 tranny for better gearing

sorry i blew my motor i put a z6 bottom end on a d15y7 race head not firing on the # 1 and 2 cyl. as far as tranny i have the z6 tranny is it a taller final gear does anyone know?

so, your not firing on cylinders 1 and 2?
and you are looking for a good highway or quarter mile transmission?

y7 trans is the same as a b7/b8 trans with big bearings, but the same gearing. z6/y8 trans are identical.

as far as misfire, cleck plugs, rotor button, cap. if your problem persist, check into a used or reman distributor.

looking for a trans so that i dont have to shift out of 2 on a half mile track i hope. as far as all the rest im checking wires toommorow everything else is good

you probably wont find anything like that in a z6 and y8 tranny seeing as 2nd gear tops out at ~60mph

I still have no idea what you're saying. What does the transmission have to do with two of the cylinders not firing?

no way does it go 60 in second chipped comp and springs and cam 80 at least at 8600 rpms as far as the motor probs im good dum me didnt plug it in all the way and im talking about two different issues one was the motor second was the tranny

8600rpms on a d series isnt going to last long and pointless without a big cam.

read the post again bud i have custom cam and heavy duty valve springs a chipped computer and bored out sleeves 40 tho im a machinist ill make any d series beat just about any car u put in front of me
