OBD1 or OBD2 harness?
ok, just need one more definitive answer before i get the harness i need for my swap. here are the facts:
motor is a b18b it is an OBD2 motor, JDM
car is a 92 civic Si
i am going to be running OBD1
so, my question is simple:
is it possible to just use an OBD2 LS harness and not have to do ANY plug splicing? i mean wont it just plug right into an obd1 ecu if the connectors from my shock towers are OBD1?
or MUST i use an OBD1 harness and solder on OBD2 injector clips, alternator, and distributor clips?
i've been a bit fuzzy on this since i first ordered my motor. thanks for the help!

as stated above, it is plug and play. sorry, was thinking of obd2 civic harness'. completely different when it comes to the firewall.

why would i need a jumper harness? if the obd2 LS harness plugs right into the shock towers, then the underdash wiring is still OBD1 style ecu connectors anyway, right?
No need for a jumper harness, The obd2 LS engine harness is 100% plug and play to the shock towers.
You are correct the underdash harness remains untouched and intact.

just needed to see if running the OBD2 harness is easier and it definitely is.
just get an obd1 harness and get obd1 injectors and obd1 alternator then it will be plug and play.. you will also need to change the distributor to an obd1 but a cheaper alternative would be to purchase a plugnplay kit for the distributor that will plug into the obd2 distributor and the other end will plug into the obd1 wiring harness.. i believe it cost like 20 bucks
and as far as your ecu harness your fine just use an obd1 ecu..
