Can I use the Hondata S300 with my stock injectors?
Hey Guys,
I'm in the process of a turbo build as I slowly collect parts. Anyhow I'm wanting to test out my Hondata S300 and play around with it while the car is still stock. Can I do that? I know when I put in the DSM 450 CC injectors I have to wire in a resister box but what about my stock 98 injectors?
I have the S300 + ODB2A to ODB1 conversion harness. Can I just plug it in?
[EDIT] Oh yeah the S300 is in a P28 ECU.
Thanks
Malcolm

for stock 98, no resistor box. doesnt matter
file, new, calbiration - choose one closest to your setup, ecu plugged in, key on, up arrow to upload map to ecu, start car

That's awesome. I may fire up the car with it today just to see it work but I want to wait till my wideband arrives before I actually start driving on it to keep an eye on things. Exciting stuff lol. Time to start learning tuning!!
Glad to see you're still here Malcom. Also, glad to see you're getting your car and turbo set up put together! I remember reading one of your first posts on here where everyone was flaming you for being a ford guy. Anyways... I think you should start a build thread!!!
Haha yeah I remember that. I ran into quite a few haters who were anything but friendly. Not sure what that was all about. Since then I've found quite a few nice members on here who've been really helpful.
I actually did start a build thread. Progress is on the way as time permits. Hopefully I'll have it boosted within a couple months. If you go through the build thread you'll see quite a few parts I've collected. I think the last hard to find item I'm looking for is some ID 1000 injectors. Well hard to find used anyways. New they're $460 but I'll eventually need them since I plan on boosting it real hard in the future with E85 so it makes more sense to just get them now rather than cut off my existing injector connectors and soldering in ODB1 style connectors and then wiring in resister box for the DSM 450 injectors. Only to undo all that and return to stock form and put in the ID 1000s later. Might as well just find some now.

Nearly identical but don't quote me. I don't tune, yet. It's not going to look for a knock sensor or the second O2 sensor among other things. Fuel maps should be no issue. Any other differences you can tune out of/into it. Hence the term BASEmap.
Yeah I don't tune yet either so that's why I'm wanting to start with a close to stock as possible tune or map so I don't screw it all up before I even start
Just use your stock injectors for the time being. Then when you are ready for boost, just get a new set of injectors of high impedance instead of the cheap dsm that hondata don't even recommend of using while tuning on s300.
