Icon2 coolant coming out from reservoir tank

hello peeps i have a 95 del sol with a 95 gsr. im having a minor problem with coolant coming out of the reservoir tank. my car idles perfect, thermostat is opening, and fan is kicking in.

the thing is when i drive to work (20 miles) with ac on, coolant will shoot out. not alot but id say about 4-6 fluid oz. i will only see it when i get home from work and there will be a small puddle where the reservoir tank is..how do i know? well i checked for leaks and nothing from top hose and bottom hose. there is evidence of coolant from the cap of the reservoir bottle.

i also noticed that my radiator cap looks different. there would usually be some plastic piece at the bottom of the cap but its missing. i will provide pics later today.

the car does not overheat im just curious to why coolant is shooting out

let me know what you guys think.

I'd do a pressure test on the cap and system before replacing any part.

But a cap is a $15 part, if you want to throw parts at it.

Yeah you're missing the most important parts: the spring and gasket. Might want to find that as well in the radiator. My accord did this last month as well.

so replacing the rad cap will eliminate the coolant shooting out of my reservoir tank cap?

You sure it isn't from your A/C being on? I have seen 4-6oz of liquid under a car from condensation dripping off the compressor. Make sure it is coolant.

yes im sure its coolant unless ac liquid is green too. when standing in front its coming from the left side of vehicle..the opposite of the ac compressor + its green..

Oops didn't see that. No need to pressure test it. Ignore my post above.

Yeah, you might want to find the spring and gasket or they might end up clogging the radiator and cause future overheating problems.
