Default When Upgrading the Alternator power wire....

I just got a High output alternator and my rpms bounce when my bass hits. So i was curious i followed the power wire from the alternator and it goes to the black box under the hood which only looks like a fuse box. Can i just cut the wire and run my 0 gauge wire from the alternator with an inline fuse to the battery? this is in a 91 civic hatch.

Yes you can. But you can fuse it and go straight to the battery.

I switched out the battery terminals and added the 0 gauge, didn't want to cut anything incase I sold the car in the future. I'm using 100 amp inline fuse, not sure if you'll need something bigger with an high output alt. Don't forget to upgrade your grounds with 0gauge as well, I've got my battery negative grounded to the engine block as well as the chassis and I switched out the 2 grounds on the block with 0 gauge.

These are the terminals I'm using for pos/neg, have 2 0 guage and 2 8gauge (2 8's can be used for your starter/fusebox). That way you don't have to cut anything, just add the 0 gauge.

Also make sure you have the belt tight enough. More load on the alternator = harder to turn the amp, so when you're pulling a lot of power the alternator becomes harder to turn which means a belt not tight enough will slip reducing the power output from the alternator

Ok guys i got the wire on but im having a possible problem. With the new wire it blows the black box fuse but the wire has a 120 amp fuse so thats fine. Also since the change ive noticed my car is kinda jolting in higher rpms when i am lightly touching the gas pedal.

First, you do not need a 0, [1/0] gauge cable for your alt., if your alt. is a 125A H/O all you need is a 4 gauge, [good to 150A].

Replace the 120A fuse with a 150A fuse. 94

Never mind it only blew a fuse the first time and that was a mistake i made, but what about the hesitation thing any ideas?
Also my alt is 165A so im guessing 1/0 is fine then.
